Meet the Team
Pamela D. Keenan, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Pamela Keenan is the current owner of McDonald Audiology & Hearing Health Care. Prior to owning the practice she worked for the previous owner for 14 happy years.
She attended Central Michigan University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in 1991. Subsequently she attended Michigan State University, where she received a Master’s degree in Audiology in 1992. In 2009 she completed the Doctor of Audiology degree at the George S. Osborne College of Audiology at Salus University (formerly known as the PCO School of Audiology). She also has a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) and is licensed by the State of Michigan Board of Audiology.
Dr. Keenan’s passion is providing the best hearing help by utilizing the latest technology, and the highest standard of care. Her goals are to provide expert diagnoses, counseling, information, hearing aids, hearing aid maintenance and repairs, noise protection plugs, loop systems and hearing accessory items. She enjoys volunteering with local groups such as HLAA (Hearing Loss Association of America) and DHHS (Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services) to help educate the public about hearing and issues surrounding hearing loss.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband Vernon and two sons Justin and Bryce.
Shawn Castillo, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Shawn Castillo has been practicing audiology since 2002. She joined McDonald Audiology & Hearing Health Care in 2013, after moving back to her home state of Michigan.
Prior to working at McDonald Audiology & Hearing Health Care, she worked at Northwestern University and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She attended Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders in 2000. Subsequently, she attended the University of Connecticut, where she received a Master’s degree in Audiology in 2002. In 2005 she completed the Doctor of Audiology degree at the George S. Osborne College of Audiology at Salus University (formerly known as the PCO School of Audiology). She also has a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) and is licensed by the State of Michigan Board of Audiology. She served as co-VP of the Ways and Means board position for the Illinois Academy of Audiology from 2010 – 2012.
Dr. Castillo enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Her goals are to provide her expertise to meet every patient’s individual communication needs. She really enjoys connecting with patients to meet their better hearing goals.
Kelly Lyons, Au.D., CCC-A
Kelly received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Central Michigan University and earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from Wayne State University.
Her motivation comes from her father having a hearing loss due to a traumatic event as a child.
She was born and raised on the west side of Michigan and is excited to be back and practicing in the Grand Rapids area. She enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time at the beach.
Marisa Pepper is the Audiologist Assistant. She has been working for McDonald Audiology & Hearing Health Care since 02/17/2020 and she earned her certification 03/19/2020.
I have been employed with McDonald Hearing Since April 2019. I enjoy our patients and being a part of their life changing hearing journey.
There are no words to express the joy I feel when I see that smile come across their face and know that I am a small part of that new found happiness.
I am a lover of summer, family and a native New Yorker.
Lori is the Patient Care Coordinator at our Grand Rapids location. She has over 16 years of experience as a medical receptionist, and a passion for helping others.
Lori and her husband David have 3 children and several pets. She grew up on the north side of Grand Rapids, and still lives in and loves the area. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and going to the beach.
Cyndi is a Patient Care Coordinator at our Grand Rapids and Kentwood locations. Some of her responsibilities include scheduling appointments, making reminder calls, processing charts and helping patients’ complete paperwork.
She will always greet you with a smile and do what she can to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
Cyndi has 4 young children and loves spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include doing anything with her kids, fishing, boating and snowmobiling.
Alice has been employed with McDonald Audiology & Hearing Health Care since November of 2013. Her duties include Accounts Payables, Receivables and Payroll. She is a graduate from Catholic Central HS and Davenport University with an Associates’ Degree in Accounting.
Alice has 4 children, a daughter-in-law & 2 son-in-laws and 6 grandchildren. During her free time, she loves to spend time with family & friends & being outdoors enjoying the 4 seasons in Michigan.
